My Take
I thought there were some students who would never be motivated to do math but I was wrong! I teach in an urban school with a lot of struggling students. I had many of my active boys absolutely love the games on mangahigh. They were willing to practice math facts with no push back or whining etc.
How I Use It
I think this should be used sparingly so it does not become just another assignment. I recommend taking your class to the lab & letting them try the games for free before setting up accounts etc. It really helped my students engage in practicing basic math.

Increase engagement and skills with fun games and interactive tutorials.
I like Manga High best as assigned lessons aligned with the curriculum. This options allows for students to work individually at their own pace while still being able to do the fun, competitive games that help them build their skills. It also allows me to gage their mastery and suggest additional topics for them to work on if they are struggling or need additional help. I wish the free version had a little more access to the analytics, but it is still an awesome resource that students love and love learning from.

This is a great tool to work with struggling algebra students. It help build up the students numeracy. Another great feature is that the website scaffolds and help the students with the order of operations.
