My Take

It's basically just counting, adding, and subtracting with your fingers, but the iPad makes it more engaging. It is neat how the app so easily and accurately determines how many fingers you place on the screen. Of course this is a challenge for children with manual dexterity issues. It does allow for varying levels of skill though since students who have mastered basic counting can work on addition and subtraction (up to 10). Due to it's simplicity and lack of tracking I would only recommend it for basic practice for grades PK-1.

How I Use It

It is useful for young students to drill their basic counting and arithmetic skills on their own without getting bored by the necessary repetition. I have used it for students to get extra practice after other work is finished or if I am meeting with another group.
