My Take
This website is one of those valuable sites that every teacher should use no matter what subject area you teach. The user friendly interface, simulations, lessons-hard copy available and the level of rigor is exceptional for all types learners and age groups. The activities will encourage collaboration and engagement. The content available will reinforce many of the essential governmental themes as well as provide the students another opportunity to dive deeper with the content and standards.
How I Use It
This website is a great tool to extend and reinforce your social studies or history content. This user friendly website was used to support all levels of learners as well as giving the students the relevancy behind real life situations and how history plays a pivotal part in our daily lives. After setting up free accounts, students navigated the website and utilized games that supported social studies and common core standards. We used a computer lab and our 1:1 carts to complete lessons and activities. Lessons were sequential with easy to follow teacher guides. My iCivics is also available to track student learning and hold students accountable for their learning.
