My Take
I like this extension because it gives students the ability to not only feel more comfortable researching topics online but it also allows them to build their vocabulary in the meantime. I know that it is not as flashy as some, but I have seen it be used effectively. Once used, I have seen students use it more often than not. I even find myself using it during web searches!
How I Use It
I had noticed that when I would assign a research project for my students, they would tend (as most children would) just look at the pictures during their searches. I soon found out that for the younger students and some older students that their inability to understand words made it difficult for them to fully engage in a research project. With this extension enabled they were able to click on a word they didn't understand and get the definition. It even reads the word and the definition to them. This helps them to not only understand what the word means but also how it is pronounced. I also liked the fact that they could use this tool without embarrassment of not knowing what a word was.
