My Take
GEO Play is a good resource for students to learn and reinforce the location of places around the world. It's visually appealing with maps marked with outlines, colorful flags, and easy to read font. Students can choose from the practice or online game mode. They get several chances to test their knowledge and immediate feedback is provided. It would be nice to inlcude a sound option in order to hear the names of places pronounced. Overall, the app gives students the chance to interact with geography in a fun way.
How I Use It
This app can be used as a review or extension activity to help students sharpen their geography knowledge. Individual students or small groups can locate places on a map, identify flags and capitals. Students are timed and earn points during three rounds of play which makes using the app similar to a game. They can challenge themselves or groups to improve their performance. Students can use GEO Play when studying world history and geography.
