An AWESOME no clean-up, no mess, no gagging alternative to the middle school frog dissection science lab!

My Take

There is not too much that I would suggest to improve this app. It is very informative, breaking down each of the important organs in a frog and how they interconnect within the whole body function. There are some quizzes/activities that students can complete to demonstrate understanding, but they are not the most engaging. Students found the actual process of dissection and discovery to be far more engaging. It is a great tool to have in a science class 3-12 and a swell replacement/supplement for the old middle school frog dissection day. While they could provide a little more content to upper grades, they do give many resource found outside of the app.

I highly recommend this awesome app!

How I Use It

This is a great app to gain an understanding of internal organs and their functions in the body. While it is not as fun as actually dissecting a real frog, it is the next best thing (and much less gross for those students with weak stomachs). The app can be used as a whole lesson or as a follow-up/remedial activity. It is very self directed and interesting, which keeps them engaged. We used it as a center and the students wrote a science notebook observation while engaging in the app. The students found it very entertaining and informative and increased their life systems vocabulary.
