My Take

I love that it gives differentiated instruction in a year when we don't know exactly what holes need filling from missed learning. This will be even more of an issue next year with some kids missing for quarantines, some online, some at school....and the lessons are varied to make them more interesting.

How I Use It

We did the placement test right away at the beginning of the year. After school closing in the spring, we were not sure what learning gaps each student would have. We are in a hybrid district right now, so I have students use this on their off-site days at home because they are all working on what they need for reading and math. We celebrate as a class when students get "high fives" which motivates them to complete their quests. They can only receive them after completing a quest at a high level, so just rushing through the quests is not problem when they figure out that they can't get high fives if they do.
