EdPuzzle allows teachers to take a video and make it into a perfect learning activity!

My Take
I love this product because of how it allows me to monitor student understanding. If I ask students to work on an EdPuzzle in class, I start to offer feedback to students while they are working. I can give feedback on question one after a student submits. I don't have to wait until they submit the entire assignment. Having said that, I do wish that I could ask kids to resubmit an answer to a question if I mark it wrong. I would have to ask students to redo the entire video lesson instead of the part that they got wrong. I also wish that I could crop out sections in the middle of the video instead of merely cropping the beginning or the end. These slight criticisms are not enough to dissuade me from using this tool in the classroom.
How I Use It
EdPuzzle is one of those tools that seem to have so many applications in the classroom. I have used it to flip/blend instruction by finding a video that explains a concept and adding questions, written notes, and audio notes. I have used it as a whole class opening activity. I show the EdPuzzle video that I create in class. Instead of having students log in and complete the EdPuzzle assignment independently, the video pauses and the question is presented. Students talk about the question with their partners, which leads into quick whole class discussion. I have used it as a review activity. I have even made my own videos in Powtoon so that I could turn it into an EdPuzzle. What is great about EdPuzzle is that kids, when working independently can rewatch sections of the video if they missed something. Many students need this feature.
