Dreambox in a self contained classroom
It is really good for practice and introducing a new concept.
How I Use It
Our district required all of our students to log in and work a few lessons every week. The students were interested in the beginning, however, the basic lessons are at times somewhat harder to figure out, and students will shut down and get frustrated because they cannot seem to figure out "how to play the game." It did however, introduce most of my students to an upcoming new concept in math (as I teach self contained pre-algebra aligned to common core 8th grade), and sicne they were a bit familiar due to DreamBox, my job became a bit easier to introduce them to the lesson, for example, translations/reflections and rotations.
