One of the easiest ways to share websites with my colleagues and students.
Community Review for Diigo
My Take
The pure number of sources of information on the web can be overwhelming for students. They sometimes only focus on the top 2-3 sites in their web searches -- not too mention some students lack the skills to use their search engine effectively. With Diigo I am able to easily bookmark sites that I would like students to visit. I can add highlights and comments to help focus their attention on a particular section of a webpage. I really like the ability to install the Diigo browser extension because I often come across the best resources for students when I am not actually searching for them. I know their are other services that offer some of the same features, but Diigo is the one I choose to use because it is easy to use and it gets the job done.
How I Use It
With students, I have used it to collect relevant and useful websites that I would like them to visit. I create a unique tag which they can search for. I encourage them to find and give me sites that they have found helpful, so I can share with their peers. With colleagues, I have created a group where we can share sites and create a repository of links that we can all benefit from.
