Community Review for Curriculet
My Take
Curriculut provides teachers with an outstanding tool to help their students in meeting the literacy standards associated with the new Common Core State Standards. Students can join the class created by the teacher, but have to do so themselves as the teacher cannot simply create accounts for them. I know that this tool is new, but their current choices of available content is lacking. I hope that this grows overtime, but the ability for a teacher to upload their own content does help to combat this issue.
How I Use It
Curriculet allowed me to present information to my students for reading and assess them on it. It has taken the content of my classes and helped my students to better grasp it through the tools for teachers. My students have been able to gain a better understanding of the material because they are able to annotate the text quickly and easily as they read it. The ability to highlight specific sections of text that they feel are important and mark it with information from elsewhere helps students unbelievably in gaining a better understanding of the text. Curriculut also lets them have words they do not recognize defined while in their reading so that they do not have to go elsewhere to discover it.
