My Take
I love that Classcraft is a simple way to integrate PBIS as well as engagement in the classroom. Students love their avatars and leveling up, and I love that I don't have to spend a ton of money on tangible rewards for the students. During the pandemic, this tool was a lifesaver as students were being taught virtually, so there were no physical rewards to give the students. This is a great tool if you previously used ClassDojo and you are looking for something on the "next level" for older students.
How I Use It
I use Classcraft on a DAILY basis! The kids love the engaging features, and I love the ease of use. Students enter my classroom to the Volume Meter so that they can begin their warm-up at a low level of noise. They instantly earn rewards for their good behavior. I go straight into the random picker where students can earn points individually or as teams, and this also helps with engagement and attention as students never know when they will be called upon. Every Friday, we use the Random Event feature and we go over Kudos.
