My Take
I love the system and have recommended it to my colleagues and administrators. Overall, using Classcraft has transformed my students in their desire to explore and learn. Since they see it as a game, they always want to play and usually don't realize they are learning. The system is simple to learn, easy to navigate, and tracks students without any extra work.
How I Use It
I am currently using the free version of Classcraft, but will likely upgrade for next year. The program is simple to access and use, and the kids LOVE it! My students happily complete extra assignments (note: this means they are actually reviewing and learning on their own) to earn Classcraft points. We celebrate when kids level up, and I keep an active leaderboard in my classroom (although the kids can easily see rankings on the site). Students are engaged and interested in exploring the game and progressing. The competition is fun and engaging, but not disruptive in my classroom.
I love that the program interacts seamlessly with Google Classroom and easily allows kids to access games and learning sites like Blooket and Edpuzzle. This makes extra quests simple to create and upload.
