Great interactive math site that keeps students interest.
Community Review for Buzzmath
My Take
On the SAMR model I feel that this app provides augmentation for the students in their lessons. The students review their Math skills and they gain a deeper understanding on the concepts being taught. If a student does not answer the problem correctly their is immediate feedback. BuzzMath walks the student through how to get the correct answer. I liked the fact that it provided immediate feedback. It also made the students think through and show understanding of the steps that the students would go through to solve the problem. This website the co-teacher and myself see what the students still had problems with and we were able to reteach if needed.
How I Use It
I am in a Co-teach classroom for Math and this past year we have used Buzz Math in the classroom weekly. We have found that app was really good for all levels of learners. We focused more on reteaching and additional practice for each student. This is app can be used for free but they are not able to get to the games that are used as a reward for earning certain points. This is only available in the paid version. However, this website was still very useful to us in getting the students ready for the the kind of Common Core assessment we gave our students at the end of the year. The lessons make the student go through the process of solving the math problem step by step. The student gained a deeper understanding of their algebra skills.
