My Take
This product is not easy to install and begin using. It is not intuitive, and many parents need support from the school to get started. While it is an excellent tool for students with reading disabilities, most of my students would prefer to here an actor's voice as opposed to a computer.
How I Use It
My students use this to support their reading by listening along while following in their books (or with the on-screen text). Almost every novel or textbook is on BookShare. It is a free service, but students must qualify. Additionally, the app costs money.

Helpful resource that benefits those who have reading related impairments or disabilities
I think Bookshare is a great tool that helps those with qualifying abilities. During my initial research, I thought that it wasn't optimal that it was not automatically offered to those with intellectual disabilities. But there is other software that exists that can help students with intellectual disabilities, so there are alternatives.

Fantastic FREE resource
My only issue is that unfortunately, you cannot access graphic novels easily. Otherwise, love sharing this with my students.

It wasn't useful for my students who have limited internet access at school and home. It was time consuming to set up and my students complained about the robot voice.
I don't care for the robot voice either, and the textbooks we use were not on the list.
