My Take
I love Read, Write, Think's Alphabet Organizer for so many projects. The ability to save your work and come back later is so easy. The site can be used for numerous project ideas for individuals, small groups or as a whole group lesson introducing a new theme.
How I Use It
Most recently I utilized Alphabet Organizer for my 4th grade tech special students to create a 13 colonies A-Z dictionary. Another lesson I utilized it for was to create a review booklet from our study of the water cycle. Each student came up individually and submitted two letters of information for the whole class booklet.

Great graphic organizer for creating ABC lists or books!
This graphic organizer can be used on the ReadWriteThink website as well as in this app format. It's easy to follow the step-by-step process from beginning to end. There are several options to choose from when creating your organizer - words only or one word and picture per letter. You can select to view as word pages or charts and notes. A nice feature of the app allows users to save in draft form and edit later. The final product can be saved to the camera roll or shared by email as a PDF. If you want to make an ABC book, then this is your go-to app!

Brainstorm Away!
Alphabet Organizer and Readwritethink apps are functional and are meant to be used with direction from an educator. Again as I've mentioned on my review of the website, these apps are not "fancy" and so children who are used to gaming may feel like this is "boring". Nevertheless, brainstorming ideas is a necessary component to writing and I think that this is one of the most efficient and versatile tools out there (plus its free!). I really wish there was a way to directly save products from this and other RWT apps to cloud storage such as dropbox. Right now, saving only saves to the device or you can email to yourself as a pdf and then upload to cloud storage. As my students often share devices (we aren't quite 1:1), these apps would be more functional if a direct save to cloud storage was available.
