This program is amazing!
Get More Math is a spiraling program that helps all student grow throughout the school year. I have seen huge confident boosts in my students because they are able to practice concepts until they reach mastery. This program is amazing!
I absolutely love this teaching tool. Our 5th grade students completed over 222,000 extra math questions using this program. GMM allows teachers to turn on certain standards or TEKS as they teach concepts throughout the year. This program spirals learned concepts throughout the school year so students don't "forget" the things they learned at the beginning of the school year. As the end of the school year approached, we didn't have to go back and review old concepts. Everything was fresh as the day it was taught.
If students start to struggle with a question, they have a hand button they can push and this will go directly to the teachers computer. I am able to see the exact question the student is struggling with. I am able to send them a message directly to their screen or I can get up and go help them. While they are waiting, they can continue working on different questions. No just sitting and waiting on the teacher to show up...huge bonus.
Students are also able to earn points as they answer questions correctly. After earning points, they earn game credits that allow them to play a short game and then back to work they go. Teachers can limit the amount of game choices as well so students aren't wasting time. Students can only roll over three game credits a day. No collecting credits and then spending a day of playing games all class.
My math students had a huge success with GMM this past year. The 5th graders at my school had 61% mastery on the Texas STAAR this year. We were second highest in the district for mastery.
This program also allows you to differentiate. I am able to make different groups for students with different abilities. I had sped students that were working on the same program at their level. To everyone in the room, all students were working on the same thing. They had no idea that students around them were on lower or higher level concepts. ALL students are able to use this program and feel successful. Daily goals can be set as well. I would set an obtainable goal each day and as kids reached their goal, I would give them classroom cash.
My students enjoyed this program and I am over the moon that my PTO is willing to pay for it again this year.
I had a student that did not pass the 3rd or 4th grade STAAR test, but did pass the 5th grade STAAR. I think this program played a huge part in her success because she was able to practice skills over and over again until she became confident in her knowledge.

Very useful for development!
I love it! It allows me to frame my day differently than other classes I teach. It bodes well for me as I have gained more knowledge on ideas such as the SAMR framework. This website will allow me to use substitution or augmentation to enhance learning for my students in the future. I can eliminate entire lesson plans using this website and really focus on review when necessary. Also, this provides home training as well, as all the kids have access to their account information whenever they need it.

Time consuming
My students' grades declined during the first month of assigning GMM. GMM does not provide students with any type of feedback, hints, or advice when they get a problem wrong, but they do provide them with penalties which makes it challenging to keep earning more points.

GMM's personal attention is like no other program! They genuinely care about the success of students using their program and the satisfaction of their teachers!
Get More Math has been a game changer for my campus. This past year, a 6th and 7th grade teacher at Westbrook Intermediate used GMM with their 270 students. As an instructional coach, I measured the impact GMM had on student achievement, which was profound! The percentage of student mastery increased on almost every exam given from the previous year. Our largest increase in student achievement was our Special Ed population which increased 20% - 50% on most campus level exams from the previous year. Beyond just an increase in scores, students were more confident in their math ability and they didn’t complain about having spend time using the program.
Other programs that we have tried seemed strong at the beginning, but students became burnt out on it and teachers were frustrated with the implementation. One thing that makes GMM different is the simplicity of using it in the classroom. Any time teachers had questions, GMM was there with an immediate response. GMM was always just an e-mail, phone call, or even text away! GMM made it easy to modify skills that were assigned to students and monitor student progress throughout the year. Teachers loved that the program was not based around a game but still had an “brain break” incentive for students that kept them engaged. They loved that students were invested in their learning and they, as teachers, received real time data on how students were performing which allowed them to meet the student where they were and help that student grow.
From the perspective of a student, this was the first program we’ve tried that by the end of the year, students were still heavily using it and enjoyed doing so, even during this time of distance learning. Teachers were able to assign GMM as a homework assignment or as a sub assignment and they were confident that their students would be engaged without constant monitoring. By using this program to spiral in previously learned material and new material, they noticed students were retaining information better than they have seen before. Teachers noticed that they no longer needed the extra time to review for an upcoming test.
I’ve never worked with a program with a stronger personal connection. Everyone I have worked with on the GMM team genuinely cares about the teachers and students GMM impacts. Because of the impact on student achievement and the personal attention from GMM representatives, we are now more passionate than ever to get this program in the hands of every intermediate student in the district!
