Fantastic tool for students to stay engaged. Awesome for personalized learning!
I would highly recommend Front Row to any teacher. Kids enjoy it and love going to the "Piggy Store." It's really great for Personalized/ Individual learning. Great tool to follow the growth that my students are making.
One thing Front Row needs is a search bar to find the reading articles easier.

Kid Friendly, Teacher Friendly
I love the program. The students are engaged, which makes me happy, I love the reports. However, I wish it was more affordable and could be purchased in smaller increments. Again, I teach in a School district that offers Digital Academy through our school district. I currently have less than 20 students, and I would like to have the option to buy the full program at a reasonable price for those students so that I can track their progress and have time stamps.

Great Math/ELA website, FREE!
I feel that this program is wonderful at determining the students level and working them on that level with support videos until they are able to move up. Students love to use this program and work hard to earn coins and reach new levels.

I have used Front Row for 2 years now. I love how it aligns with Common Core. The new Word Study added this year has been very helpful for my students to meet their needs at their personal level.
I love the program and have encouraged several people to try it. I like the fluency practice, the variety of ELA texts the students can read and the math standards they can practice.

Front Row is FABULOUS!!
Front Row is a phenomenal teaching tool! I love that the lessons are real world problems that help make math relatable. The targeted and adaptive practice help my students to complete work at their level and provide step by step guidance and videos when they are struggling. I highly recommend this program!

Accurate assessment of student skills according to today's standards.
I like Front Row for it's ability to accurately assess my students based on current standards and build skills they are deficient in. When a student needs to redo an activity, the tutorial videos don't change, but the numbers in a question or the type of question that is asked does which means they can't just memorize answers to get through or put in the same answer their friend does. I which I had more control over assignments in the free version, but other then that, I highly recommend this program.

Great for Differentiation and Early Finishers!
I think this is a wonderful addition to my math instruction. Early finishers can get out a device (iPad or computer) and use Front Row, and I know they are practicing Common Core math skills at their level. Sometimes when used for the whole class, students who are struggling can practice answering questions that are challenging for them using the various tools.
A few bits of constructive criticism are:
- Sometimes the program can have glitches and the students complain that they completed a level, but Front Row is not allowing them to go to the next level. This can be discouraging and frustrating for them and me.
- For the students who struggle the most with number sense and mathematical concepts, the videos don't always seem to help that well. Also, the funtion where Front Row reads the question aloud does not always work, for example on the laptops.
- I would like to see more ease of use with the math manipulatives when the students are figuring out a solution to a problem.
- The adaptive part works best when students complete the questions all on their own. If they ask for help and someone else tells them the answer (which often happens at this age, 1st grade), then they keep getting harder questions. So I tell them to do it independently. However, Front Row keeps suggesting to students that they get help from other classmates, and they give certain names of students who may be able to help. This seems counterproductive to the adaptive model.
- I don't think they do a great job of teaching new concepts. There are certain standards that students work on before I teach them (maybe at home) and when I get to that concept in class, they have some misconceptions about it based on what they tell me they "learned" in Front Row.
Overall, I love how engaged the students are, and it is all at their level. I love the weekly reports I receive from Front Row about my students' progress. It is a valuable tool for enhancing and differentiating my math instruction.

Front Row in the classroom
This resource is a great addition to my math curriculum. I like how I can select a specific common core standard and instantly have resources to review and reteach concepts to my class. It works great in small groups, but without 1:1 access to technology I cannot rely on using it on a regular basis. I highly recommend this product to help those students struggling with mastery of basic facts and skill retention.
