Great communication tool for teachers to students
As a teaching tool it could be used to give impromptu to writing prompts, or a website article, and now you can attach a file so learning can happen. I like the new attachment tool for files as I can send home letters to parents or the assignment sheet. I can send an exit or what I like to call an entrance ticket that students have to have done before they come to class.

Easy way to remind others of important upcoming events/dates.
This is app is an easy way to remind teachers about upcoming events or dates that you need them to be aware of. It automatically sends the receiver a text message notifying them about the event. It is easy to set up and it allows the sender to determine when it will remind them. We are in the day and age where cell phones are attached to everyone's hip. If your school allows students to carry and use cell phones, it is also a nice way to send students assignment reminders as well without giving them any personal information.

Great website/app for keeping parents in the loop with upcoming events, tests/quizzes, and any other reminders!
I love this product, and I love that they even made changes to update it through the year that I have been using it. That tells me that the creators are listening and making changes to best meet the needs of educators. I would love to maybe have my students who do have smart devices to sign up next year so that they can get the reminders as well. The parents loved it too! Even though I constantly send out emails to communicate with my the parents in my classroom, the parents commented that they liked the short messages being sent straight to their devices, and didn't have to sign on and open up emails to get a quick reminder. It really has served my teaching better by being able to quickly remind students/parents of certain things making things alot easier. I really loved this product and plan on using it for years to come in my classroom!

Remind is an ideal tool for connecting with students and parents via text while maintaining everyone's privacy.
Although I maintain my class website and calendar very thoroughly, it doesn't always get viewed. Remind allows me to connect to students and parents in a format that is very direct and more likely to be viewed--text messages. I love how clean their interface is and that the service can be accessed via the web or by app. The app is well-designed and allows management of multiple courses or hours as different groups. ...and did I mention this is all FREE?! Ideal "price" for those of us in education. Remind isn't just reminders. You can send a challenge question to your class or "food for thought", you can praise your class (or a small group) for their hard work., etc., etc. Students will come in the next day, beaming, and say "YOU texted me!!!" Suddenly you are a teacher that connects to them on their level (yay texts!) and you're more relevant in their lives. I cannot stress enough how helpful this product is for busy educators/coaches/club sponsors. Being able to text your stakeholders without revealing your phone number (or theirs) is wonderful. If anyone tries to respond to a text, they're given a default message telling them to contact me at school.

Remind101 is not only a communication tool with students, but also with parents.
Remind101 has been a tool used in my lower elementary school to remind parents of upcoming events, tests, days off or half days of school, permission slips/money due, conferences, or field trips. Once you make an account the parent just has to text the provided number to sign up. This allows each message you send out to go right to the cell phone of the families who have signed up as a text message. I recently learned that teachers can send out videos and pictures in the near future. Remind101 for the smaller children can help keep parents on top of the events to be noted. Groups can be made within the account so that messages can be sent to groups of children, however, it is not possible to send a message to just one family. Remind101 has helped us reach the families of our children who have inconsistent lives.

Great for feeding out small bits of information!
Can also be used to send out small facts or information, in addition to basic class reminders.

Excellent tool to use for making sure students are on task.
This tool, Remind101, is such a time-saver for me as a teacher, and technically a life-saver for the students. It does not actually provide actually learning to the students, but is a means of keeping them informed of up-coming assessments, when projects or homework is due, and other notification needs. It is very easy to use and cannot be abused by the students. I have not found any real drawbacks yet using it other than those students in the class who do not have access to technology at home or have a cell phone.

Simple and Effective Communication Tool
Remind 101 is not a tool used in the classroom per se. It is a communication tool for teachers. Teachers set up an account, students join that account and teachers can mass text message the class with reminders, etc. Teachers never have students' actual cell phone numbers and a complete record of what is sent and when stays in the teacher's account. Remind 101 also just added support for attachments, meaning you can add a photo or document to your messages. You are limited to 140 characters in the text.
