Prompts leads my students to connect their thoughts.
This program provides many of the same types of prompts that teachers would give students, but it effectively assists students by guiding them through steps without having to have the teacher by their sides at all times. Also, since the prompts come from a program and not from a teacher, some students are more willing to consider the advice! Nice to have some validation. :)

Prompts can be a great way to write if you play with your words!
I got Prompts as a freebie, but have found it to be super fun to play with. It truly is the whole point and really allows writers to up their game. When the prompt is introduced, often kids will look at each other and then to the teacher for guidance. This has some great little push button drop ins that add to the process of writing as the author is going through the planning process. Some are writing tips, some are tips about what to focus on and others are merely reminds for the kiddos to stay true to the prompt. While it is a basic program, it is still worthwhile and great for a sponge or for an impromptu, no pun intended, writing lesson.
