8th Grades dove right in and loved this!
This tool is fantastic as a self-paced enrichment activity. It could be made even better if the company that made the game included step-by-step guided learning lesson plans. It was appropriate for the middle school level, and all students that used the tool enjoyed it.

Old school visuals for real world horrors!
While the graphics are a little old school (or Minecraft style if you prefer), the content and gameplay are advanced. There is a requirement for critical thinking while under a time duress. The impending disaster is coming, regardless of your actions. Students learning that they may not be able to save everyone, is a powerful learning tool for developing their problem-solving skills. I find the game very challenging and I always want to do better.

The stop disasters program is a great way to teach preparedness for disasters in a fun way.
I really enjoyed using stop disasters in every way. It is a great way to teach social studies/government skills and teach them ways to be prepared in and outside of school for disasters. I would like to have more resources to use in follow up lessons or to have the students work on at a later time.
