Great classroom management tool, but make sure that it works for you!
ClassDojo can be a really great tool, when used correctly. It can very easily get to be too much and be overwhelming. I would suggest to start off small with it. If you are a classroom teacher think about creating a monster for the whole class, table groups, or guided reading groups. If that seems to be working for you then you could try moving forward towards creating individual monsters for students. ClassDojo has great tools to go with the points, such as the classroom timer and data organized in easy to read graphs. I would not sent out parent reports to all parents. I would suggest to only send out to those parents of students who you are concerned about or have a behavior plan for. My advice is to make sure that ClassDojo is helping you out, and not just creating more work for you.

Great Tool for Class Management
My overall opinion is that it is a great teaching tool because it is helpful for class management and organization. It helps me from pulling my hair out and it is a great guide to show children what is appropriate and what is not. I do wish I was able to attach newsletters and word documents or even videos. With this addition Class Dojo would be completely awesome.

Love it!!
It is a great tool when your students are struggling with getting settled and focused. I started using it 3 weeks ago and I find that I am not having to ask students to get ready for class, they just come in and get ready. My classes range in size from 30 to 35 6th graders per period. They have in a short amount of time learned self direction. They see me tapping on my tablet as I take attendance so they quickly get focused so they get the point for the day.

Excellent student buy-in on their own behaviors!
This product is definitely more a behavior management tool than a teaching tool, but since the two go so hand-in-hand, I find that the active participation in class discussion or small group activity in my classroom has really enhanced, because of the increased accountability. Being able to pick on random students or students who have not gotten enough points for the day/week/month really pushes kids to do the work, because they never know when they will be called.
The 'random' function really enhances my strategies as a teacher, because I know I'm not calling on the same several kids over and over again. I can use that random and, if the chosen student is partnered with one of my target students for the day, I can still get to that target student. Or I can strategically step in front of the projector and pretend the random function chose my target student.
Which brings me to the real-time updating feature. Students love seeing their name pop up on the board, and I love that students can see when they gain (or lose) points immediately, and what behavior caused that to happen. In addition, they especially love the function of customizable avatars that happen to look like cute Monsters Inc. characters.
I have not had as much success with parental involvement as I would have hoped, but that can always be a struggle at my personal school site.

Try ClassDojo!
ClassDojo rocks! At a certain point, you may find that you need to supplement it with an external reward system (like x number of ClassDojo points earns a free homework pass or something like that), because, like anything, student motivation can start to lag. My biggest wish is that more of my students had internet access outside of school so that they and their parents could interact with ClassDojo more often. ClassDojo tops out at middle school; maybe having more "mature" avatars to choose from would be enough to hook high schoolers.

Classroom management Tool With A Positive Attitude
No doubt this can be a time saver. Practice, practice, practice! Being able to use this program with an iPad is a great way to increase proximity with your students. This is a great program to hold students accountable as individuals or as a class. The parent communication piece is valuable and easy to set up. This program can also support you with your social norms or expectations at the school and at the classroom level. The timer is also a great feature to run as your students are preparing for class. Excellent support is offered and individualizing your image is a favorite for all students.

ClassDojo is a great classroom management tool and wonderful for random selection and participation.
I have been using this app for three years now and I use it every day. I started using it just as a random selection tool and then ventured into the classroom management features. Students respond well to the immediate feedback they get for participating or being on-task or the negatives such as talking or disturbing neighbors. Parents have responded well to it and like getting the reports emailed to them each Friday. I have even had a few parents contact me as they saw their child's behavior getting worse.

Great way to discourage negative choices.
Great tool for both teacher and students. Its also works by giving parents an opportunity to see how their children fare during a school.
