Realistic approach to identifying locations on a map.
I think it has a lot of potential as a stand alone application but I wish it offered more information and facts as part of the game. The game is good and it keeps score and allows to review answers, however that is as far as the game goes. It is also only offered on android, which limits the uses in many school districts. MapMaster is an engaging way to learn and reinforce geography studies
MapMaster is an inexpensive Android app that offers a variety of geography games. Users can choose from capitals games or "other." Capitals games are offered for all continents. "Other" includes "favorite places" around the world or major cities in the United States. A pinch zoom is used to drop a pin on each of the locations, and there is a 25 second limit to each challenge in each game. Point values are assigned, depending on how close the user drops the pin to the actual target. This app could be helpful to social studies teachers instructing students in both U.S. and world geography, although the U.S. capitals is the most structured and would be easiest for teachers to assign to students with confidence.
