A Handy and Versatile Teaching Tool but Lacking in Social Studies Resources.
I find Khan Academy to be a very helpful and effective teaching tool because the presentations are so versatile. I like that I can show a video in class and then make it available to students outside of class so that they can access it and watch it repeatedly or review a short portion if need be. The only criticism I have is that there are very few history topics available at this point. I'm sure that there are more social studies presentations in the works, as the offerings on Khan Academy seem to expand by the day. Each teacher would probably use Khan Academy slightly differently, so I recommend reviewing the topics available for one's subject area and just viewing a few videos to see if it might be a good addition to your teaching toolbox.

Good for linking to your own websites for homework help, like your own private teacher at home.
If there was a way to make it a little more fun- the students engagement piece would improve. However, as far as solid, helpful information- this is a huge help to students and their families.

Khan Academy has proven to be a huge asset to learners. It has been especially useful in flipped learning.
There have been absolutely no negatives on this one. The videos are professionally done, and begin at the very basic in each content topic area. This is a gift to learners and our society as a whole.

Videos are their strength
Khan Academy has a good thing going. Feedback from my struggling math students was that they liked being able to pause/review videos on specific classroom topics that they felt shaky on. The way the website was set-up made it clear to them how different sets of math knowledge/skills relied on and were connected to other sets.

Great tool to support the flipped classroom experience.
As teachers, we know that the best classroom experience is the one that provides education daily but supports the student when needed. This is a great tools but a few of my less motivated students watch the video and don't understand why they watched the movies at home while listening to music, playing with the cat, or folding laundry and knowledge from the video did not magically take root.
