Understanding My Digital Footprint

What makes up our digital footprints?

Every time we go online, we leave traces of our activity behind. But how much of our digital footprint do we create on purpose, and how much happens automatically? Help students discover the two sides of their digital footprint while learning to make thoughtful choices about their online presence.

Objectives

  • Define digital footprint and understand the difference between active and passive digital footprints
  • Identify examples of both active and passive digital footprints in our online activities
  • Think critically about what we add to our digital footprint to make informed choices in the future
