How does being online change the way we share and connect with others?

Texting, posting, and commenting online might feel just like connecting face to face, but being online actually changes how we communicate in subtle yet significant ways. Students will learn about positive risk-taking, online disinhibition, and how to make informed decisions about what to share online and who to share it with in order to build and nurture positive relationships.

  • Explain how online disinhibition influences what and how people share in online spaces
  • Ask critical questions to make thoughtful decisions about self-disclosure
