Pen Pals in a Connected World

How does technology help us connect with people around the world?

In this lesson, students will explore how technology enables global connections and cultural exchange. They will discuss their own experiences connecting with people across distances, and learn about the concept of digital citizenship through the Rings of Responsibility framework. Students will understand their responsibilities to themselves, their local community, and the global community when using technology. The lesson culminates with students writing pen pal letters that practice respectful cross-cultural communication while maintaining appropriate privacy and safety measures.
