LESSON

Care to Share?

How does audience influence what we share online?

Our brains are hardwired to share, but things get complicated online—different audiences won't always interpret the same content the same way. When different groups of people you know intersect online, it creates what's called "context collapse.". This lesson builds critical audience awareness and practical sharing strategies, helping students harness their natural sharing instincts, while building a positive digital identity that works for them, not against them!

Objectives

  • Reflect on the science of why we share
  • Understand context collapse, including how it influences what we share online and who we share it with

Vocabulary

Audience · Context Collapse
