How I Use It
Inquiry based site. Can work for a wide range of students. A new question every day can be displayed, short response created by students, discussion ,then play resources*- discuss again or write about the subject.
Warm-up for writing activities or to introduce a unit of study.
Question of the day can be used as a prompt for writing or the question paraphrased. Students can continue to explore the question. You can use the archive of prior questions as research or homework and relate them to current content areas.
Great for stimulating critical thinking and investigation techniques.
Camp Wonderopolis is a good resources for extension activities or a after school program.
*Each question and its response is accompanied by a variety of resources: video teasers, an audio option, basic comprehension checks, vocabulary terms with linked definitions, a word-match exercise.

My Take
I like this resources as it is a inquiry based site which works very well with the scientific method of inquiry.
Great list of books for further exploration listed at the end of Camp Wonderopolis.
Excellent tie-ins available for classroom themes, very easy to use /find themes in educator Sandbox
Use in a whole group setting as videos may be blocked in the school setting,
Like the Common Core look-up setting
Review with students digital citizenship before they can post on the "What You Are Wondering" section- I wish you could make this section private for your classroom
Is COPPA compliant- see privacy notice.
