How I Use It
I was able to try this app out with my students this past week. We are currently studying the atomic theory in my 8th grade physical science class. For a lesson, I had the students make a timeline of all the individuals who were involved in this theory. Overall, the students enjoyed creating the timelines. They seemed to get a lot out of the activity and understand how each individual created to the atomic theory. The only issue that the students had was with the uploading of images and videos. Several of the students couldn’t figure how to input a URL to a specified date. Other students were given an ‘error’ message when trying to upload a video.
My Take
Overall, I enjoyed integrating this tool into my class as an activity. The students were able to effectively see the process of the atomic theory. For this activity, I allowed my students to work on it with a partner. It was relatively easy for them to set up, and they were able to share the timeline and work on it effectively with their partner. Once the activity was completed, the students were able to submit their timeline to me simply by the URL. I feel that my students were able to incorporate higher order thinking skills as well as communication skills. I definitely recommend this app to any and all teachers looking to help students organize dates and individuals associated with those dates.
