How I Use It

TenMarks is unique in the amount of control it gives to the teacher in planning students' learning experiences in the program. Teachers can select question types, answer formats, and depth/rigor in practice questions. Teachers can also choose to assign specific skills to each student's "playlist," or allow TenMarks to populate student programs based on assessment data. This program would be great as a replacement for homework, especially for students who may need more help to master skills. TenMarks would also be a great program to use for tutoring and summer learning.

My Take

There are many adaptive math practice programs out there, but Ten Marks really shines when it comes to the Common Core. The questions are thought-provoking, rigorous, and at a depth not seen on other sites. The embedded instruction also makes Ten Marks stand out - students have a chance to review the content before they answer, instead of having to take a guess and receive feedback only if they are incorrect. The "amplifiers" provided to students who are struggling make this program unique in terms of differentiation, and all students will get the support they need to create deep knowledge of math concepts. I highly recommend TenMarks for use in tutoring and RTI programs!
