How I Use It
Rewordify offers teachers a way to simplify text by replacing vocabulary words with easier to understand terms. Teachers copy a section of the text into the site and Rewordify creates a simpler version of the text. This is a helpful solution for differentiating material for various levels of readers. I would especially find this useful for a reading workshop and small groups. The same content information could read by all students, but an intervention group could read the text at an easier level. There are additional items in this site besides creating easier text. Customized vocabulary lists and documents can be saved and assigned. I especially liked the various ways that the text can be used and printed. Classes can also be monitored after entering students individually or as a spreadsheet. It does take some time to learn how to use this site, but there are videos and tutorials to help teachers get started.
Rewordify is a valuable tool even if it is used only to simplify complex texts for students. However, there are various valuable components to this website that cannot be missed. Once a class is set up, students can be assigned differentiated texts and vocabulary. Rewordify also offers various vocabulary help. At first, using the site may seem complicated but there are many helpful videos and explanations. Rewordify is an excellent approach to differentiation.
