How I Use It
You will want to check out this versatile and effective tool for video presentations. Teachers and students can create their own Movenote videos as a way to share, present and reflect. There are so many ways Movenote can support teaching and learning. The possibilities seem endless! If you are interested in a blended approach to the classroom, Movenote is a must have! You can upload PDFs, content from your Google Drive, images and more. There are two parts to the screen. One side is the content you uploaded to your Movenote. The other side is a video of you as you go through the presentation.
I find that students are more likely to be engaged when they can see and hear their teacher. I think that is one of the reasons why Movenote is so effective. If you are absent, you can create a Movenote to share instructions, or to help with the sections you know students will struggle with. You can differentiate for your learners by using Movenote as a support, or create different Movenotes for the same unit. And the best part is that students can also create their own Movenote! We are all wanting to provide students with opportunities to share with classmates, especially as it relates to speaking and listening. Movenote is a great tool for that because it could free up some class time. Instead of having students present one by one, they can create their own video and upload it for other classmates to watch and engaged in online dialogue. Or, students could create a Movenote as a way to reflect on their learning.
I love Movenote! It is super easy to use and integrates with Google Drive. You are able to share a link or embed your movenote to a class website. Our school district uses Chromebooks so it is pretty simple to add it from the Chrome Web Store to connect to your Google Apps. I do wish that there were more interactive possibilities so students could provide some answers or submit their thinking.
