How I Use It
I use this app during our math stations. I have two adult monitored/instructed stations, one game/skill station and then ipads with IXL. Students have to login to their account and practice the skills of the day. I check in with each student weekly, and review the amount of time, skills and % of correct answers. They like to see how they grow individually and as a class!
The station set up works well, but I wish I could assign problems. I have used IXL at the end of the month as well, teaching my students about the growth that we have made. The charts help the students really grasp how we have grown or not grown in different areas of math.
This is a great tool for each of my students. I like the interactive feedback that is given. Students get to see how to correctly solve a problem if they get it wrong. It could serve the kids better if the understanding portion of the feedback was orally read to them like the problems. It would help my instruction better if there was a larger summary section to allow me to direct activities certain groups of students need to review, rather than free choice of problems.
