I love DreamBox, but it does need a few tweaks.

How I Use It
We have personalized learning in our school with one-to-one devices (ipads). During math, we have math centers/rotations. One station is a math playlist, which contains a variety of activities on a specific standard. It could include videos to teach the skill or practice activities which can be accessed on their ipads. There is also a "Meet with the teacher" rotation for specific skill instruction/support. The third station is DreamBox, allowing students to work on other skills outside of the unit which they need to develop or enrich.
My Take
I love that Dream Box will individualize instruction for kids. It allows kids to work on skills from previous grade that need reinforcement and also allows students to access skills at higher levels for enrichment. My only concern is that sometimes I see it giving students skills that I feel are much too difficult and it doesn't adjust down to a more appropriate level. For instance, last year I had students who received math support from a specialist, but they were given skills on Dream Box that were several grades above grade level, and therefore, the students struggled. I noticed that the level wasn't adjusted down to a lower grade level skill.
