How Can Teachers Use It?

Teachers should take time to explore the collection of resources to supplement their current lessons on economic issues. The materials range from free teaching guides to films and books for purchase. Teaching activities make meaningful connections between economic concepts, historical events, and current issues. Overviews of the lessons, procedures, and materials are all provided for free, and, in some cases, Spanish translation is available. Simulations such as the restructuring of a burger place and the making of paper airplanes help students to understand the concept of scientific management. The lesson on Plotting Inequalities integrates math principles into the examination of the economic inequalities of urban life. In addition to the lessons, recommended books and films delve deeper into the economic realities in the United States.
