How I Use It
I actually am excited to use this product. I will go with the pro account if my kids continue to respond as favorably to its use as they have so far. Basically, I take presentations and turn them into movies, placing checks for understanding throughout. In this way I make sure that every student is at least exposed overtly to the specific learnings that I hope they acquire.
Zaption Presenter is a new feature out of Zaption’s excellent video interactive resources that it merits a fresh look.
In order to access student responses made during the presentation after the fact the teacher needs a “Pro” account, an $89/year sunk cost, in order to download student responses into a .csv file. Depending upon how one chooses to use it, this limitation may be significant. Look at another way, there are a great many free resources, and funding the design team is no crime. The people behind Zaption have families to feed, bills to pay, and lives to live, too. Education must not be seen as a charity business, nor should the development of tools that support effective pedagogy. Zaption, and Zaption Presenter, are impressive products that can and should significantly increase the effective and efficiency of classroom and flipped instruction.
If nothing else, Zaption Presenter should enhance/replace just about every PowerPoint deck ever created.
Commitment and Learning Curve
Presenter: Low, Zaption: Low/Medium. If you know how to use Zaption then Zaption Presenter is effortless.
