How I Use It

I like the simplicity and visual appeal of the website. The students can figure out exactly what they are expected to do. Directions are not necessary. World-Geography-Games offers more topics to practice than other websites. However, I wish there was a timer or a score that better motivated students to improve. If there was a way of improving, students would be willing to complete the games multiple times.

My Take

This is an independent practice activity for students to practice topics in our curriculum like continents, oceans, countries, regions, and states. Some students enjoyed challenging themselves to learn additional topics like islands, mountains, seas, lakes, rivers, volcanos, or deserts. The game is rote practice of location, but this is often the base knowledge that deeper conversations about geography. My classroom includes a mix of netbooks and iPad minis. This website only works with Flash, so it functions on the netbooks but not the iPads.
