How I Use It
I have used a wikispaces wiki for six years with my students. Each student sets up a digital portfolio for each subject area. They write directly on the page or attach files, and it serves as a platform for displaying their work. The wiki is a useful tool for collaboration as all students have the opportunity to edit the content of any page. Changes are tracked in the event that anything is inadvertently deleted. Tags are easy to use to make sure the pages are unique.
It doesn't work well at all with Safari on ipads, so my kids use Puffin.
Wikispaces provides an easy-to use platform which provides all the advantages of a website with the collaborative functioning that users expect from a wiki. Kids can use it as a stand-alone web presence or as a base for other media.
