How I Use It
Why Tuesday offers the answer (or at least helps you choose one) of whether voting is important or not. This is a good tool for teachers to use when explaining voting to young people. Why Tuesday provides teachers resources that explains voting turning, supports reasons people vote and why they wouldn't, gives alternate ideas for how the US votes, among many other resources. Social studies teachers can use this website to stress the importance of voting and it will help students aid in discussions on voting turnout. I personally used the website to help to explain why voting is important and to explain why voters today don't turn out at the polls.
My Take
The website has a very informative and aesthetically pleasing intro video about voting. However the website can be difficult to navigate and can be confusing in nature. I believe that if a teacher uses this resource it should not be an exploratory for students but as an aiding tool for the teacher. The website is loaded with information and facts about voting. My favorite thing about the website is that it offers possible solutions to solve low voter turnout. This was extremely beneficial in leading students in discussion on how to fix the problem. Students gained knowledge from the website and aided them in their opinions about voting.
