How I Use It
I used this website when teaching an enrichment class to middle school computer users. Students had 2 weeks to design and create their own websites. We began by talking about copyright laws. After returning a parental permission form (which was required), students designed the website on paper (giving web site topic and content on each individual webpage) and submitted it for teacher approval. After receiving teacher approval, students began to build websites. We used the free version--and students could choose whether or not to publish the website.
Weebly is an easy-to-use tool; however, it sometimes will hang up. It is very user friendly; even special needs students were able (with teacher assistance) to build websites. Several students took this tool and built websites after having the class; one group even built a website for an anti-bullying group in the school. Because it was a a free tool, students could visit the website, log in, and work on sites at home, also. I found it to be an effective and easy-to-use tool and highly recommend it.
