How I Use It
I have used weebly with teachers so they could create an individualized classroom, grade level or subject specific website. Many librarians made sites for their libraries and some schools in the district use it to create school sites.
I have used it with students as a way of presenting research, as a final project, as an individual project and as a group project. I have also used it as a way to extend and expand on a student's interest in a subject.
Just be sure someone does editing and spell check before publishing.
Weebly is a wonderful teaching tool as well as a teacher tool. I like the ease in creating a free website. Anyone can create a website if they can type. It allows the user to be as creative or as simple as they want. It allows anyone to have an internet presence, good or bad. The site will be as good or bad as the information, writing ability, spelling, etc. of the person creating it. If the creator (student) does not edit, research and/or follow directions the website will reflect this and that can reflect poorly on the teacher using this program as part of their classroom. We had a problem locally with too many weebly's being accessed from within our district that we were being blocked. Each one had to be unblocked individually by the tech department. Before have more than one class create a weebly you may want to check this out with your technology department.
