How I Use It
I liked that it was easy to use, professional looking, and allowed the students to create a webpage without having to know any HTML coding. I had students create a Weebly site for a presentation that they gave. It was great because after the presentation, it was easy for students to reference at a later time. I have used it not only for my graduate portfolio, but also to make a resource page for a book we were reading in class. Then, students who were struggling were able to find help, explanations, links to videos and more.
If you're want to make a website (for free!) and don't know where to start, this is your place. Teachers or students -- anyone can use this free product. I absolutely loved using it to create my website. If you're nervous about how to set up and design your webpage, you can use the stylish templates to design it and then take advantage of the simple drag-and-drop options to add content. I liked that it was quick, simple, and beautiful. I was introduced to it during a college class when I had to create an online portfolio with it and had no problems. I often offer it as a presentation tool for my students and they have been able to pick up and run with it. Potential classroom uses include student site creation, classroom webpage, studying/intervention resource homepage, and many more.
The only draw backs would be that if you wanted your own domain name (the free version comes with "sitename.weebly.com", you'll need to pay a monthly hosting fee.
