Teacher Review For VocabularySpellingCity.com

The free version is basic with very few online activity options. The Premium version may be worth the money, but I could not find an option for a trial membership.

How I Use It
I was exploring the site for use in a SDC elementary classroom. The free version had limited game choices and some of the audio was difficult to hear. In the sight word practice game an incorrect response was met with a discouraging "noooooooo" and only the repetition of the word and a reminder to think about the sounds, rather than offering any additional guidance to help students find the correct answer. There were lots of videos to help teachers and students learn to use the site. The lists of words seemed very helpful, but I'm not sure how much of the teacher resources are available without the Premium Membership. The free games are lacking in visual creativity and I found myself easily bored.
My Take
It's hard to give an accurate review of the product without having had the opportunity to test out the Premium version. Perhaps if there was a free, trial, Premium Membership offered (I looked but didn't see one) I could make an informed decision about the sites usefulness. It looks like it has a lot to offer, but without trying it it is hard for me to say whether it is worth the price of membership. It's possible the additional content would warrant a significantly higher rating, and my recommendation.
