How I Use It
I use Tynker during the Week of Code. Students are given puzzles within a storyline. The series of puzzles introduce new coding features such as the repeat command. My students love the brightly-colored graphics. The hints and help boxes are text heavy; some students need to be encouraged to read these to get the most out of the challenges. I often pair students, especially those in grades 2 and 3.
I like that fact that Tynker offers some of their products for free. No accounts are needed. Students have options to solve puzzles and create artwork. Students get a valuable easily-accessible view into how coding works with drag and drop command blocks.
