How I Use It
ELA teachers use this in their classrooms for practice summarizing and as examples of informational writing. Due to the ability to change the lexile of the articles, all students can find current event articles of interest that are written on their reading level. Students enjoy the opportunity to choose what they read, and teachers appreciate an extensive bank of articles on various levels.
My Take
Tween Tribune is a must for ELA classrooms but can be utilized in other content areas as well. Students enjoy the articles, and teachers can always find current events that interest students on a wide variety of topics. With an emphasis on reading in all content areas, this is a great resource for all teachers at all grade levels.
