How I Use It

Today's Meet is a rather simple site, but what it can provide in your classroom can be powerful. It is meant to serve as a backchannel that goes on during class. Some ways that I have used Today's meet is when I have had a guest speaker. I create the link for the Today's Meet and students can have a conversation, ask questions, and engage with one another while the speaker is presenting. Then the speaker can address questions after the presentation. You could also use this if you show a video clip. During the clip, you can have the Today's meet up and expect students to engage in a discussion about the movie content. It is also a way for the teacher to show that he/she is paying attention and not just grading papers in the back! Lastly, I used a Today's Meet when I had students do scavenger hunts and to share their learning throughout the hunt. Today's Meet is a great way to ensure students are engaged throughout the learning, regardless of what format the learning takes place.
