How I Use It
I use this tool during discussions, presentations, and even as a tool to keep teachers engaged during P.D.. When guest speakers come to school, TodaysMeet is a cool way for students to get questions to the speaker. I will often act as a moderator and as students post questions or comments, I feed them to the speaker. I do wish there was a simple way to "thread" the discussion rather than have a single long post. Although this tool is better for symmetrical discussions, it certainly fits well with CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.SL.8.1.C
Pose questions that connect the ideas of several speakers and respond to others' questions and comments with relevant evidence, observations, and ideas.
TodaysMeet is a simple back channel that is easy and quick to set up. It works with with our iPads and it can be used in all sorts of situations. We often use QR codes to get students to the TodaysMeet site. It would be great if it had a Code instead of a url so that students could get to the tool even more quickly.
