How I Use It
I use this product to enforce the concepts we are learning in math. I also use it to drive my instruction of small groups. The product lets you assign assignments to all of your students or lets you choose specific students. When choosing assignments, you can choose the standard you want to assess or the topic. All the activities are aligned to the Common Core. The reports are very useful because it informs you about how your students understand each CCSS. This product works great for the classroom; however, students cannot do this app at home on their own unless you assign them activities to do.
I love this product. It is very easy to get started. Once you create an account, you can add your class and provide each student with a username and password. Once you have created your class, there are parent friendly letters you can print out to send home with the student. The website provides reports that show which CCSS my students know really well, need more help with, or are really struggling with. I use this data to create small intervention groups. In addition, if a student has difficulty solving problems, they are given three hints. Ten Marks is very valuable for classroom instruction. It is a great tool to use to assess your students understanding of each of the standards/concepts. For example, I have been focusing on the geometry standard of shapes and their attributes. After many lessons and activities I wanted to assess my students understanding. I assigned them the same geometry standard and was able to see their overall percentage correct on the questions. With the data, I am able to see which students have mastered the standard as well as which ones need more intervention support.
