How I Use It
I would have my students practice for homework using TenMarks. I would tell them to practice until they reached a certain percentage correct, doing at least 10 problems. There wasn't enough geometry practice, or varying levels of difficultly. Sometimes an easy problem would come up and then a very hard right afterwards, which was off-putting to the students. I found it cumbersome to assign problem sets all the time.
It seemed like a great opportunity for students to practice and have the comfort of knowing if they were correct or not. The site has explanations and videos students can watch to help them through the types of problems if they are stuck. The practice was very limited and there were not enough of the skills I needed students to practice. Students got frustrated with it because sometimes the site was down, or the numbers in the problems were so weird that they kept getting wrong answers when they actually knew how to do the problems. It's a good idea, but it needs more development in the way of varying skills and choosing good numbers to put into the problems.
